State Streets: where I grew up.
The State Streets sit in the central part of West Sacramento — right around Memorial Park, where I played Little League as a kid. This is the neighborhood I grew up in. When people ask me about “real” West Sac, this is usually what I picture first: streets named after states, a park that still feels like the center of town, and homes that have been lived in for a long time.
What it’s like
You’re in the middle of West Sac, not the newer south end and not quite the river-edge older pockets of Bryte & Broderick. Memorial Park is the landmark — ball fields, open space, the place locals still use. The housing is established: different decades, different conditions, more character than a model-home village. Buyers who want a West Sac address with a genuine neighborhood feel often start here before they compare to Southport.
I know these streets the way you know a place you rode bikes through — which blocks feel quiet, how close you are to the rest of town, and why Memorial Park still matters to people who grew up here. That doesn’t replace an inspection or a good comp set, but it means I’m not learning the map on your dime.
Buying in the State Streets
